Interests
One of the things I find real joy in is going on long walks with my dog, in places no one else is around in. I live in Lynn Valley near all the trails, so I prefer going into the woods to walk her rather than on a sidewalk. It's so refreshing, and a nice escape from reality, and technology. I usually wonder off the trail, and sometimes find really cool stuff. I've found a little pond deep enough for my dog to be completely submerged in it, and there's sand around it too. It's like a private little beach, I love it. It's not that hidden, but no one's ever there, and usually when people do come they don't wander too off trail, or just have no interest in it so don't show up. Even though I love going on walks, sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to go out of the house, but once I start it feels amazing.
I think my generation is so caught up in technology it's hard to appreciate the little things in life. Usually whenever something fun is happening we pull out our phones to capture the moment, instead of living in the moment. We care about how many followers, and likes our posts get too much. We get caught up in stress from school, and our personal lives, but when I go on walks it feels like an escape from reality, it's just my dog and I having a great time.
However, my dog has now gotten a limp from inflammation in her leg so she isn't able to run, or play with other dogs. Her walk time is also cut down to 15 minute walks four times a day. Which is disappointing because in quarantine I feel like walking is the only thing I have to do, and now my dog isn't physically able to go on the long walks we used to. I believe she will recover soon, but I hope it's fast, it's already been a couple of weeks, and even though I could go on longer walks by myself it just isn't the same. I feel like she gives me purpose, she's the only reason I go on them, and they're 10 times more fun with her. If you drop her leash she picks it up herself, and starts to walk herself with the leash in her mouth. I've caught this on camera multiple times, it's so cute!
