COVID-19
COVID-19 has left the world in complete shambles. It's taken a toll on everyone's lives all around the world. Many people are losing their jobs, and are low on money. The economy isn't doing well either. Toilet paper is in low stock. People all around the world are dying, and millions have been affected by the disease. Clearly, this virus has left an immense negative impact on people, and our economy. However, the environment and animals are thriving. In Venice, Italy, the fish have come out and are visible for the first time because of little pollution. Skies in Delhi, India, have cleared, which are usually grey because of all the pollution in the city. Although this virus has had an extreme negative impact on us humans in a way I am grateful for it because it has shown us how beautiful our planet really is. We still have potential. I'm aware this virus isn't going to cure climate change, but I think it could promote governments to take more action for protection. After all we only have one planet. Let's keep our pulchritudinous planet dazzling.
I know currently USA has the most COVID-19 cases, with over a million. Globally we have around 3.2 million confirmed cases. The real number is probably much higher than that, those are just the confirmed ones. However, British Columbia acted fast, and I think we've got the problem under control so far. Although, normal everyday life doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon. As long as everyone keeps following the basic rules, and doesn't give up, because I know it's difficult, I think we'll be okay.
How have I been handling COVID-19? When COVID first started, and we were still in school I didn't think much of it, and to be totally honest I didn't mind schools being shut down because of it. However, now over a month into quarantining I wish more than anything to go back to school, and my friends. I miss my normal life, it's been hard staying motivated around the house. I have no motivation whatsoever. Everything feels so repetitive. I'm doing the bare minimum everyday so far. I wish I had motivation to do more, but I just don't. The one thing that gets me through this tough time is talking to my friends. We zoom together, and Netflix party which is a chrome extension. I talk to them a lot, and I think it's brought us closer in a sense, because we have so much time to talk together. Of course it would be much better if we could physically hang out together as well. Overall, I think COVID-19 has taught me to be so much more grateful for everything that I have, especially school, I didn't ever think I'd miss school so much. I truly appreciate the opportunity to get to go to school now.
